Lago Calima, a perfect scenario
Lake Calima is a landmark of the Valle del Cauca, where wind, water and landscapes beckon thousands of tourists to enjoy the recreation and contemplation of breathtaking landscapes every weekend. Lake Calima is actually a reservoir (man-made lake) built in 1964
for hydro-electric power generation. The lake measures about 13
kilometers long by 4 km wide. Due to the scenic beauty of the
reservoir (lake) the traditional design of most of the rural homes
is Swiss chalet style. On Lake Calima, one can find a great varietyof
tourist facilities, particularly nautical and adventure sport
schools such as windsurfing, kite surfing, Sunfish and Canoeing.
